Student Accounting and Billing Information

International Students

Overview

Every student at the University of Oregon has a student account.  Most University financial transactions are processed through the student account.  These transactions might include: Tuition and Fees, UO Housing charges, Communication (long distance phone) charges for students living in the UO Housing, Health Center charges, Library fines, and Parking fines. Each time you register, cancel, or add courses, a charge or credit is posted to your account. Most Financial Aid and Scholarship money is credited directly to the student account. After charges have been paid, any excess financial aid is refunded to the student in the form of a check. These "net" checks are disbursed at the Business Affairs Office/Student Loans counter on the first floor of Oregon Hall.  Work-Study money is paid to the student in the form of a payroll check. Students may view their student account online with Duckweb at http://duckweb.uoregon.edu/, in person at Student Billing Office.

The UO student billing system operates like that of most major credit card companies. There is a monthly billing cycle, and statements are produced around the fifteenth of each month. Payments, due on the first day of the following month, are considered past due if received after the ten day grace period. Any past due balance is assessed a monthly billing charge of $6.00 plus interest at the annual rate of 9 percent after the 10th of the month.
