Student
Assistant 1:
Performs basic, routine, non-complex work. Requires sufficient education and
training to follow and understand new and existing instructions. May require a
brief orientation period. Work is characterized by following simple well-
established methods in the completion of tasks and may involve unskilled or
semi-skilled work.
Student
Assistant 2:
Performs specialized work or work of a more technical nature. Requires knowledge
and application of specific work procedures, scientific/technical knowledge,
and/or manual skill in task completion. Usually requires some analysis of
situation or circumstances to identify and define issues before proceeding with
work. Work may require some developed skills such as typing, composition, or
equipment/machinery operation and is guided by standardized techniques.
Student
Assistant 3:
Performs paraprofessional work requiring major academic training/course work of
a professional nature. Work tends to be analytical in nature guided by
principles and practices of the profession. May involve some interpretation of
policies in the conduct of work. Work is usually directed or guided by
objectives. Work may require knowledge of interrelated disciplines or
professionals fields.
Student
Assistant 4, 5, 6:
Performs professional work requiring major academic training/course work or
prior professional experience. Students at this professional level are paid
within a range.
